Dr. Alana Roy

Dr Alana Roy Psychology (PhD) is a Mental Health Social Worker, Counsellor, Advocate, Researcher, Lecturer, Mindfulness Meditation Teacher with a Diploma of Auslan Sign Language. Over the last 13 years she has worked and remains active in a range of settings including sexual assault, domestic violence, suicide prevention, schools, disability, mental health services, and the Deaf and Deafblind community. Alana works with children, youth and adults utilising Medicare rebates, bulk billing, private health insurance and NDIS.

Alana is also dedicated to psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and plant medicines. She engages with, and provides integration therapeutic support services for communities across Australia. Alana works at several universities as a Research Fellow and supervisor of students on placement. Alana passionately advocates for public policy, community education and legislative changes so that psychological treatments are regulated and supported by a strong, connected and skilled sector.

In her practice, Alana offers a wide range of therapies such as emotion focused therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive-behavioural therapy, neuro linguistic programming, acceptance and commitment therapy and mindfulness and meditation approaches.

In Alana’s spare time, she is kept busy by her young sons, her love of travelling the world, and connecting with the diverse and creative medicine community.
